i will assume this is not the place to go for this, but i dont know where else to ask and have searched my ass off for it :) does anyone know who did the title song/theme to the movie 'gadjo dilo' - or where i can get informaion or the soundtrack? ive looked pretty well through the usual places.. the song iitself reminded me of muslimgauze if bryn jones had been concerned with the region surrounding romania :) thanks! chris.

I'm not sure what you mean by the title song, but here's the tracklisting for the soundtrack: 1. Nora Luca (fictional "nora luca" song, the singer of which he's searching for) 2. Tutti Frutti (the best, most raucous song of the bunch) 3. Copza Luca 4. Disparaitra (this is probably the one you're referring to.. the one with the woman speaking several words in various languages with just percussion in the background) 5. Mama me 6. L'Amour en liberté 7. Cabaret 8. Dandaro 9. Camera 10. Frissons 11. Mariage 12. Camera 13. Nora Luca I've seen this CD all over the place, it has pretty good distribution. It's on Warners. All the songs were done just for the soundtrack. Most of the songs are traditional gypsy numbers. Catalog # is: 3984-23045-2. If you still have trouble finding it, let me know. Tony Gatlif is going to pigeonhole himself, but for the real gypsy flavor, Emir Kusturica is the only way to go, check out his "latest", _Black Cat, White Cat_, way more over the top than anything he's done before. Hilarious and indispensable. It's playing in the San Francisco festival this month I believe. Jonathan "pit bull, terrier!"
